Meet Our Team

Steve Reed
Steve ReedPresident
Steve Reed, a Dallas native, grew up in the telephone industry—as the son of the local union Executive Vice President and a Southwestern Bell switchboard operator, Steve and his siblings were pretty much destined to take up the family tradition. After a yearlong backpacking trip to Hawaii, Steve found himself as a technician at the phone company. Over his ten year tenure at Southwestern Bell/AT&T, Steve held various technical positions and gained extensive knowledge of the telephone industry. After AT&T, he joined an up and coming company called Metagram America, where he quickly moved up the ranks into corporate management, a role that would help him acquire the skills needed to begin his largest undertaking yet—the founding of Advent Telecom in 1991. Nearly twenty years later, Advent Telecom is still thriving and, as President/CEO, Steve is still chasing his never ending goal of making Advent the leader in customer service and satisfaction.

Steve’s hobbies include offshore fishing, working on his lake house at Richland Chamber Lake, playing golf and photography.

Oscar Limon
Oscar LimonOperations
Oscar has 26 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Oscar started in the cabling area that included inside and outside plant cabling. He then moved into telephone systems that included installation, managing, and training. Presently, Oscar is taking part in sales engineering and project management of voice and data networks in the hospitality industry along with the general business sector.

Oscar’s hobbies include golf and photography.

Geoff Kelly
Geoff KellyVice President of Sales
Geoff Kelly originally hails from South Africa, where he founded and ran one of the largest Mitel dealers in the region. He moved to Dallas in 2012 and soon found a new home at Advent as Sales Manager.

Geoff enjoys boating, golf, quad racing and many other extreme activities in his spare time.

Scott’s experience in sales, marketing, operations, management, business development, and leadership is vast. Scott is an IT & Telecom visionary with extensive global experience and demonstrated success in backup and disaster recovery, cloud computing, complex solution sales, consulting, hardware, managed services, outsourcing, PRI’s, SIP trunking, software, software as-a service (SaaS), telecommunications, video conferencing, virtualization, voice & broadband, delivery and sustainment of IT & Telecom products and services. Scott is persuasive, detailed, organized, a sales thought leader recognized for ability to develop major client relationships – someone who can command the room and inspire loyalty from clients and colleagues alike. He is honest, innovative, creative, able to open doors quickly, with a keen ability to recruit, motivate and bring together multi-talented individuals. Brad Pharr
Brad PharrField Manager
Brad is a Dallas native started in the telecommunications industry in 1983 in Dallas as a service technician for communications equipment. In 1991, he moved to northern California and joined a company that was a union member (CWA), providing outside plant, fiber, inside wire, and T-1 services. In 1997, Brad became a project manager servicing various accounts. Brad returned to the Dallas area in 2000 installing data centers, casinos, large office projects, and working on the Terminal D project at DFW airport. Brad joined Advent Telecom in 2008.
Lady
LadyHead of Security
Lady is the Head of Security for Advent Telecom, Inc. She is originally from New Orleans, LA, but was displaced because of Hurricane Katrina. She found a home here in Dallas with VP Bobby Berry and soon became so proficient at making sure the Advent premises were safe and secure that we had to promote her to the top position.

Her favorite leisure activities include lying on the couch, taking walks and eating snacks.
